The Cotswolds is the picture every overseas guest has of an English wedding—and it actually delivers, especially in May when the cow parsley spills over the lanes and the manor-house lawns are dry enough for a marquee.

Couples come here for the grandes dames: Daylesford for the farm-to-table provenance, Soho Farmhouse for the discreet hospitality muscle, Cornwell for the Wes-Anderson estate. The real money play is the smaller country houses around Stow and Burford where you can still book the whole place for a long weekend. Plan for August dust and October mud; aim for late-May or mid-September.
