Paris
Pick a venue first. Photographers, planners, florists slot around it. We do the shortlisting for you.
Paris is the city where people go to feel like their lives are finally a movie. The Seine winds through it carrying history and bridges and light that makes photographers weep. The Eiffel Tower is gauche and everyone knows it and no one cares. The architecture is staged specifically to appeal to people's sense of what beauty should look like.
Weddings happen year-round, though May and June and September and October are ideal. The city is entirely urban—no gardens, no countryside. Couples marry in town halls (mairies), churches, hotels, river boats. The restaurants are world-class. The after-parties run long. Everything costs what you'd expect for the most famous city in the world. The light in June lasts until 11 p.m. The city doesn't sell itself; it assumes you already know.
