Paris is the city where people go to feel like their lives are finally a movie. The Seine winds through it carrying history and bridges and light that makes photographers weep. Couples marry in town halls (mairies), churches, hotels, river boats. The restaurants are world-class. The after-parties run long. Everything costs what you'd expect for the most famous city in the world. The light in June lasts until 11 p.m. The city doesn't sell itself; it assumes you already know.
