L'Antico Convitto

L'Antico Convitto occupies a converted monastery building on the Amalfi Coast near Positano, its religious architecture lending spatial qualities—high ceilings, stone vaulting, cloisters—unsuitable for modification without destroying character. The main refectory, where monks once took silent meals, now serves as the primary reception space, its length and proportions creating natural gathering zones without physical dividers. A cloistered courtyard provides ceremony space protected from wind and coastal weather, its central well and surrounding arcades creating acoustic conditions where voices carry with unusual clarity. The kitchen adapted from the original monastic kitchens maintains limited capacity. Capacity: 60 to 180 guests depending on standing or seated arrangements.
