Hôtel du Lion d'Or

The Golden Lion, dating to 1780, anchors the town square of a village that once controlled the valley's grain trade. A painted wooden lion—refreshed in 1995—marks the entrance. Inside, a barrel-vaulted ceiling spans the dining room, supported by two stone columns. Capacity: 50–150. The bar's dark wood panelling has absorbed centuries of tobacco and wine. The kitchen executes country cooking without apology—rabbit terrine, ham hocks with lentils, apple tart with crème fraîche. Upstairs, simple rooms with Period features and modern plumbing.
