Auberge du Morvan

Named for the Morvan plateau—a granite massif rising above Burgundy's lowlands—this auberge sits within the Morvan Regional Natural Park, where forests of oak and beech replace vineyards. The building, a converted farmhouse with thick stone walls and a slate roof, commands views toward the park's highest point. Capacity: 50–150. The kitchen draws on game (venison, wild boar, pheasant) and mushrooms foraged from adjacent woods; dairy products come from small producers in the plateau villages. Hiking trails depart directly from the property.
